Prepare agent knowledge

Add sources, review the prepared knowledge, and publish it for AI chat.

An AI Chat Agent answers visitors using its published knowledge. A draft or unfinished update does not replace the current published version.

Add sources

Open Agents, select an agent, and open Knowledge. Add one supported file or public URL at a time. For a URL, choose whether to collect only that page or its subpages.

The app checks URLs before building knowledge. Keep only sources you have the right to use and that you want the agent to answer from.

Supported upload types shown in the app are DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, CSV, TXT, MD, JPG, JPEG, and PNG. The current upload size limit appears beside the file field.

Build and review

Choose Build knowledge. Processing can take time. When review is ready, read the prepared knowledge and its source references. Edit the text that needs correction.

Source titles and references remain fixed, so replace a wrong source in the source setup rather than trying to relabel it in the review.

Choose Approve and publish when the prepared text is accurate. The current published version continues to serve visitors while an update is processing. You can later choose Update sources or Edit knowledge to prepare a new version.

Keep answers grounded

Test the agent with questions your visitors will actually ask. Include questions whose answers are absent from the sources. If a needed answer is missing, update the knowledge rather than expecting the agent to guess. Keep pricing, policies, and time-sensitive details current in the source material.
